Jane MacLatchy Assistant Commissioner and Commanding Officer RCMP “D” Division, originally from Nova Scotia, spent her late teenage years in Ontario and graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 1988, she fulfilled a childhood dream when she was sworn in as a regular member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
During the course of her career, she has gained extensive experience through numerous postings across Canada, including General Duty Policing, the Musical Ride, Immigration/Passport and War Crimes Investigations. She has participated in Major Events Security, Federal Security Coordination for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympics, Federal Security Coordination for the 2010 G8/G20, North West Regional Ethics Officer, Crime Prevention/Crime Reduction, and Executive Officer Development and Resourcing.
In May 2017, she was appointed as the Director of Parliamentary Protective Service in Ottawa where she oversaw the physical security mandate for the Parliament of Canada, including the protection of hundreds of parliamentarians, thousands of employees, and millions of visitors across the Parliamentary Precinct.
In February 2019, she was named as the Assistant Commissioner of the Manitoba RCMP.
